The police we have are not protecting us. We need a new kind of public safety.

How does this keep a community safe? There's no evidence that this young woman had any marijuana at all. The police claim they found "0.02 ounces of marijuana" which is literally the weight of half a paper clip.

But what if she had had, say, an Altoids box with a little weed in it, as is pretty common? Hell, what if she had had a shoebox full? Marijuana is less harmful than beer. Seriously.

So how does this appalling violation of a woman's body - a woman who has done nothing harmful or dangerous - keep a community safe?

Shouldn't these cops have been pursuing actual criminals and arresting them?
